Urban water conservation specialist needed in Dallas

Texas is growing, its populations are changing, and that means expanding water conservation efforts across the state.

The Texas A&M AgriLife Center at Dallas has an open position for an Extension specialist II focused on urban water conservation. The position would work under the direction and supervision of the Water Program Lead Extension Specialist in Dallas. Position duties would center on developing and delivering urban water conservation information to municipal water users and stakeholders.

Other responsibilities would include understanding and engaging with the information needs of Dallas-Ft. Worth water users related to urban water security and conservation; conducting outreach and education programs focused on urban water security and conservation topics; and developing and facilitating community-based engagement and/or citizen science projects on related topics across the region.

The ideal candidate has either a master’s degree in an applicable water resources field and five years of experience in urban water conservation outreach and educational programming, or a bachelor’s degree in an applicable field and seven years of applicable experience. Proficiency in spoken Spanish is preferred, but not required for this position.
