As the administrative coordinator for the Gulf Coast Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (GC-CESU), Carol Gaas is the liaison between the coordinator and partner institutions, federal agencies and non-governmental organizations within the GC-CESU. She organizes logistics and materials for meetings, conferences and retreats for the coordinator as well as conducts site visits for meetings.

Before joining the Texas A&M Institute of Renewable Natural Resources in 2006, Carol served as the assistant to the department head of Texas A&M University’s Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences for 18 years. 

Gaas received a business degree from Beaumont Commercial College in Beaumont, Texas.
