
As a postdoctoral research associate, Dr. Shannon Farrell conducts scientific research and facilitates application in support for the institutes’ ecology, management and conservation endeavors. Farrell works with the Research and Management System for Endangered Species team to improve ecological understanding of endangered species to develop management applications to aid species recovery.
Before joining the Texas A&M Institute of Renewable Natural Resources in March 2011, Farrell was a doctoral student at Texas A&M University's Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences, conducting research in ecology, focusing on avian ecology, behavior and wildlife-habitat relationships. Farrell has also worked on a variety of ecological research projects on songbirds in California, served as a marine scientist and science educator in San Diego and designed and conducted science education programs for students in Newark, N.J.
Farrell received a bachelor of arts in biology from Brown University and a master of science and doctor of philosophy in wildlife and fisheries sciences from Texas A&M University.
