The Texas Water Resources Institute recently published the Spring 2018 issue of its magazine, txH2O, highlighting the global impacts of Texas water research.
Staff writers interviewed former USGS and Mills scholarship recipients to find out where they are now as leaders in the water industry, Texas A&M University researchers studying the water cycle in the tropics and Texas Tech researchers developing a wastewater treatment system for space missions.
A profile of Dr. Robert Mace, chief water policy officer and associate director for the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, gives insight into his career as a water scientist in Texas. Other articles detail work by researchers improving small-scale irrigation in Africa through the Innovation Lab for Small Scale Irrigation, students traveling abroad to pursue water resources studies and an AgriLife Research international task force tackling water scarcity to ensure food security.
