From the field: Middle Yegua Creek monitoring

Open pickup truck bed under a raised camper shell storing several pairs of muddy rubber work boots along the tailgate and assorted cases, containers and field gear for monitoring work.

It’s officially summer, making for a hot month of water quality monitoring for the water team.

Follow along with research specialist Amanda Tague, along with water interns Ariana Cavazos and Audrey Vasquez, as they collect water quality measurements and samples for measuring levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, at Middle Yegua Creek.
