The Texas Water Resources Institute, TWRI, will host a public stakeholder meeting on the Brushy Creek Watershed Protection Plan, WPP, on June 24 in Round Rock.
The meeting will be from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Round Rock Transportation Department Building, 3400 Sunrise Road.
Improving local water quality
The Brushy Creek Watershed Protection Plan (WPP) is a voluntary, stakeholder-driven effort. The WPP identifies water quality concerns and develops locally supported strategies to protect and improve water resources throughout the watershed. Residents, landowners, local officials, and others interested in protecting water quality in the Brushy Creek watershed are welcome to attend.
Stakeholder participation is a critical component of the planning process. It helps ensure that local priorities and knowledge are incorporated into watershed management recommendations.
During the June meeting, participants will learn about ongoing watershed protection planning efforts, discuss water quality concerns, and provide input that will help guide development of the Brushy Creek Watershed Protection Plan.
Stakeholder participation is encouraged, as local knowledge and perspectives are essential to developing practical, effective strategies for protecting and improving water quality throughout the watershed.
About the Brushy Creek watershed
The Brushy Creek watershed spans portions of Williamson and Milam counties and supports a variety of uses, including residential development, agriculture, recreation, and wildlife habitat. Community involvement is essential to developing a successful watershed protection plan that reflects local needs and values.
Previous attendance is not required, and new participants are encouraged to attend. Participation is free and open to the public, and no registration is required.
