The Texas Water Journal has published a new article in Volume 17, titled “Surface Water Variability, Stationarity, and Availability in Texas,” by Ralph A. Wurbs.
Extreme spatial and temporal climatic and hydrologic variability in Texas includes severe multi-year droughts, intense floods, seasonality, and continuous smaller fluctuations.
In this paper, a water availability modeling and analysis system is used to provide broader general insight regarding surface water variability, stationarity or departures from stationarity, and supply availability throughout Texas.

The Texas Water Journal — a peer-reviewed diamond open-access journal and 501(c)3, in cooperation with the Texas Water Resources Institute, a unit of Texas A&M AgriLife Research that brings together expertise from across the Texas A&M University System, the Bureau of Economic Geology in the Jackson School of Geosciences at The University of Texas at Austin, and the Water and the Environment Research Center in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering at Texas Tech University — publishes papers as they are completed.
