The Texas Water Resources Institute (TWRI) brought together researchers, extension specialists and water experts from throughout the Texas A&M University System for a Thematic Labs Workshop June 2-3 to build interdisciplinary collaborations to address emerging water challenges.

Through collaborative planning sessions and thematic discussions, participants identified research and outreach priorities to develop science-based solutions for water sustainability, resilience and security.

“It was inspiring to engage with colleagues in thoughtful discussions and collaborative planning aimed at developing a strategic framework to tackle pressing water challenges in Texas, across the United States and globally,” said TWRI Director Giovanni Piccinni, Ph.D.
