TWRI in 2025: By the numbers

The Texas Water Resources Institute (TWRI) continued to lead and innovate in 2025 by providing science-based, community-supported solutions for Texas’ pressing water challenges through internal expertise and external collaborations. 

Led by TWRI Director Giovanni Piccinni, Ph.D., the institute saw continued growth last year, hosted the first Texas A&M AgriLife Water Symposium to spark multidisciplinary research teams and water solutions, cultivated ongoing partnerships and new international collaborations, and helped Texans ensure both water quality and water conservation in communities across Texas.

  • 19,650 contact hours TWRI staff spent educating professionals and the public at 131 events
  • 100+ collaborators on TWRI projects
