Texas Water Journal achieves significant milestones in 2021

The Texas Water Journal (TWJ), which is published in cooperation with the Texas Water Resources Institute, achieved some significant milestones in 2021. TWJ is an online peer-reviewed journal that focuses on Texas water science, engineering and policy.

In 2021, TWJ published the greatest number of articles in a single volume, including TWJ’s 100th article in November. TWJ also upgraded its website to the latest version of Open Journal Systems, which allowed TWJ to combine all of its content into one website, www.texaswaterjournal.org.

TWJ’s biggest 2021 milestone was being indexed by Scopus, Google Scholar, and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). TWJ articles now all have digital object identifiers, are archived in perpetuity using the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network and meet the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing. TWJ also received the DOAJ Seal, which is awarded to journals that demonstrate the best practice in open access publishing.
