Emily Monroe joined the Texas Water Resources Institute in 2018 as an extension program specialist and worked with stakeholders to develop and implement plans that restore and protect water resources. Currently, she is a Project Specialist II, focusing on securing grant funding for the Institute, educational program development and evaluations, and project management. Over the last 10 years, she has managed over $20 million in project funding for Texas A&M AgriLife.

Emily earned a Master of Science in ecology and conservation biology from Texas A&M University in 2025, focusing on rangelands and climate change adaptation, and a Bachelor of Science in environmental sciences at Abilene Christian University in 2013. She is certified in project management for development professionals (PMD Pro) from InsideNGO, as well as monitoring & evaluation learning in leadership (MEL) from WSU. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in experimental psychology focusing on behavior change and effective non-traditional natural resource education programs.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys camping, gardening, art, cooking and reading.
