Dr. Kevin Wagner, Texas Water Resources Institute (TWRI) deputy director of engagement, was recently elected to serve on the Universities Council on Water Resources (UCOWR) board of directors.
“UCOWR is at the forefront of water resources-related research and education,” said Dr. John C. Tracy, TWRI director. “And, having Dr. Wagner serve on UCOWR’s board will help keep Texas A&M at the forefront of water resources research and education discussions and solidify our role as a leading academic institution in water resources.”
Wagner’s three-year term began on June 23 at the annual UCOWR conference, which was co-hosted with the National Institutes for Water Resources (NIWR).
Wagner served on the conference organizing committee and the technical program review committee. At the conference, he moderated a panel on “Transdisciplinary Bridges to Watershed Science and Human Systems in Texas” and presented on several topics.
“I’m excited to serve on the UCOWR board and work with some of the top university water resources researchers from across the U.S.,” Wagner said.
UCOWR is an organization of universities, nonacademic institutions and international affiliates in water resources education, research and public service. In addition to the annual conference, UCOWR publishes The Journal of Contemporary Water Research and Education.
