Sept. 8 water roundtable panel discussion in Austin

The Texas Leadership Roundtable on Water is hosting a panel discussion with Texas water experts 2:30-4 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Betty King Committee Room of the Texas Senate.

Additional briefings will take place the second Thursday of each month leading up to the start of the 2017 Texas Legislative session. Anyone interested may attend these discussions. Jon Comola of the water roundtable will facilitate the interactive discussions.

The Sept. 8 briefing will be focused on "new" water.  Presenters include Erika Mancha, Texas Water Development Board; Greg Flores, Innové Utility; Mike Turco, Harris-Galveston Subsidence District; Tim Chinn, AECOM; and James Dwyer, aquifer storage and recovery expert.

The Texas Leadership Roundtable on Water was founded by the Wye River Group before the 83rd Texas Legislative session. It is designed to provide policy leadership and to develop recommendations that support the state meeting its water challenges. The group published its first set of recommendations before the last Legislative session. The roundtable group is comprised of individuals of a broad and diverse cross-section, including business, environmental, faith, civic, education, industry, political and nongovernmental organization interests.
