The Texas Water Resources Institute recently published the Fall 2017 issue of its magazine, txH2O, spotlighting water security in Texas and beyond.
Staff writers interviewed Texas A&M University researchers on the meaning and importance of water security and the different ongoing research projects about water security, highlighting the Texas A&M Water Security Initiative and the United States-Mexico Transboundary Water Governance Initiative.
Other articles detail work by Texas A&M researchers on water treatment technologies to rid water of salts and contaminants. Dr. Jude A. Benavidez, associate professor in the School of Earth, Environmental and Marine Sciences at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, was profiled and the process for creating the Upper Llano River Watershed Protection Plan was explained.
