As 2024 comes to an end, the Texas Water Resources Institute (TWRI) has added two new water team staff members.

Anna Eismont joined the team in October as a program specialist. In this role, she works to address water quality and quantity concerns through improved practices and innovations.

Eismont recently obtained her master’s degree in rangeland, wildlife and fisheries management from Texas A&M University, where she also worked as a graduate research assistant at Texas A&M AgriLife in Dallas. She received a bachelor’s in biology from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2019.

Sarah Stannard began as a TWRI program specialist in December, and she supports watershed planning, implementation and outreach initiatives.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology from Texas State University and is on track to complete her master’s in aquatic resources there in early 2025. Her thesis explores the impact of predation on invasive zebra mussels in a Texas reservoir.

With 18 years of experience as an instructional specialist, science teacher, conservation educator and environmental scientist, Sarah brings a broad range of expertise to her work. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys live music, gardening, spending time with her dogs and visiting her two adult children and new grandson.
