A Texas Well Owner Network (TWON) Well Educated training has been scheduled for July 28 in Levelland, Hockley County. The training, which is free and open to the public, will run from 5:30–6:30 p.m. at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office for Hockley County, 1212 Houston Street #2 in Levelland.
Participants MUST drop off well water samples the day before, July 27, between 8:30–10 a.m. The cost of the screening is $10 per sample, due when samples are turned in.
The training will explain screening results, including corrective measures for identified problems and how well owners can improve their understanding of private well management. TWON personnel will deliver the results via distance technology.
The TWON program is for Texas residents who depend on household wells for their water needs. Well owners who would like to have their well water sampled can pick up sample containers and instructions from the AgriLife Extension office.
