As a research specialist for the Texas Water Resources Institute, Duncan Kikoyo, Ph.D., focuses on the development and implementation of watershed protection plans, total maximum daily loads and their implementation plans and other projects that address critical water issues in Texas. He is interested in developing tools that incentivize local stakeholders to participate in watershed planning and management.

Before joining TWRI, Duncan worked at Texas Commission on Environmental Quality in the water rights permitting and availability section. Duncan has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering from Makerere University, a master’s degree in water resources management from the University of Dar Es Salaam and a doctorate in biological and agricultural engineering from Texas A&M University. In his spare time, Duncan enjoys playing soccer and spending time with family and friends. He is also a fan of DIY activities and fixing things.
