As a program specialist for the Texas Water Resources Institute, Abdul Saboor Rahmany works to address water quality and quantity concerns through improved practices and innovations.

Saboor earned his bachelor’s degree in agronomy from Herat University in 2006 and pursued his master’s degree in environmental science and technology at Mie University in 2015. He also received a Diploma on Project Management and Entrepreneurship and has participated in many international programs related to sustainable development goals, environmental leadership, soil and water resources for sustainable development, rural development, circular economy, sustainable consumption and production.

Saboor has worked for over 13 years with various organizations, including the Texas A&M Center on Conflict and Development, USAID, U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Embassy, World Bank, Catholic Relief Services and Afghanistan Government in agriculture extension, irrigation, agricultural education, food security, climate change adaptation, women’s empowerment, and rural development.

In his free time, Saboor enjoys soccer, chess and watching movies.
