As a Texas Water Resources Institute research associate, Shaylynn participates in water quality monitoring efforts for waterbodies throughout Texas. She also supports various watershed protection, management, and research projects to address statewide water-related issues.
Before joining TWRI, Shaylynn worked as an applications engineer for membrane filtration systems in the water treatment industry. She earned a Bachelor of Science in biological engineering from Utah State University in 2021. During her time at USU, Shaylynn was a member of the Sustainable Waste to Bioproduct Engineering Center, where she participated in research for converting excess nutrients at water treatment plants to petroleum-free fuels and plastics.
Outside of work, Shaylynn loves traveling and hiking with her husband and enjoys amateur birding.
