Natural resources professionals invited to online stakeholder facilitation training Dec. 11-12

The Texas Water Resources Institute will host an online training workshop, Stakeholder Facilitation - Working with Stakeholders to Move the Process Forward, Dec. 11-12. This virtual event is designed to equip participants with essential skills for effective stakeholder engagement in natural resource programs.

Participants will gain valuable insights and practical tips on:

· Setting up for success: Identifying driving forces, conducting stakeholder analysis, and determining roles and responsibilities.

· Getting stakeholders to the table: Assessing concerns and needs, and aligning them with program goals.

· Facilitation 101: Making meetings effective, building agreements, diffusing conflicts, and making consensus-based decisions.

· Sustaining the stakeholder group: Keeping the project momentum through motivation and continuous member engagement. Interested participants can register at tx.ag/Stakeholders2024, and the cost is $50.

“We are excited to offer this online event to help stakeholders enhance their engagement skills,” said Tina Hendon, TWRI program specialist, Bryan-College Station. “Our goal is to provide practical tools and strategies that participants can apply to their own programs, ensuring successful and sustained stakeholder involvement.”

This course is offered through the Texas Watershed Planning Program, funded by a Clean Water Act nonpoint grant from the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The program is managed by TWRI, a unit of Texas A&M AgriLife Research that brings together expertise from across The Texas A&M University System.
