The “Building a Resilient Texas: Symposium on the Food, Energy, Water, and Health (FEWH) Nexus as a Catalyst for Sustainability in Texas and Beyond” will be Feb. 24-25 in College Station, hosted by the Division of Research at Texas A&M University.

Symposium organizers said its goal is to facilitate dialogue among policymakers, industry leaders, technical experts and the public on the critical role of FEWH-nexus research and development. The 2-day event will highlight research and innovations at Texas A&M and nationwide. Panels discussions will also aim to identify future pathways and foster cross-sector partnerships to secure sustainable resources and enhance environmental resilience.
Texas Water Resources Institute Director Giovanni Piccinni, Ph.D., will moderate a panel at the symposium.
Panels and speakers will cover FEWH nexus:
- Integrative approaches and case studies
- Research innovations and technological advances
- Capacity and workforce development
- Partnerships and collaborations
- Future challenges in Texas and beyond
The symposium begins with a welcome lunch at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 24, followed by panels and speakers, and a reception from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. that evening. The symposium’s second day on Feb. 25 will be held 8 a.m. – noon.
