TWRI researcher to present at global transboundary aquifer conference

Just ahead of the Year of Groundwater, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is hosting the second International Shared Aquifer Resources Management (ISARM) Conference. This year’s online conference will focus on transboundary aquifers and will include participation by Texas Water Resources Institute’s own Rosario Sanchez, Ph.D.

This year’s ISARM conference will be held Dec. 6-9 online. The Dec. 6 events run from 2:15 to 4 p.m. Central European Time (7:15-9 a.m. CST). The Dec. 7-8 events run from 10 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Central European Time (3-11:45 a.m. CST). And the Dec. 9 events run from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central European Time (3-9:30 a.m. CST).

Sanchez, senior research scientist at TWRI, will be a member of Panel II: Science/Policy Interface in the Transboundary Aquifer Context on Dec. 7. Sanchez works on the Transboundary Aquifer Assessment Program and is the director of the Permanent Forum of Binational Waters.

The event is free to attend but requires preregistration.
